ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Who designed the villas and the furniture?
Both the villas and their furniture were designed by Babzoe & Labrousse, the design duo formed by Ambre Marazzi (Babzoe) and Julien Labrousse. Nothing at Apaulinha is specified from a catalogue: the architecture and the objects within it come from the same two hands.
The furniture deserves particular emphasis. Every piece is an original work created specifically for these homes — unique, non-reproducible design works, included in the sale of each villa. Owners do not buy an empty house and commission an interior; they acquire a complete composition in which the building, the furniture and the decoration were conceived together. Each villa is delivered turnkey — fully equipped, furnished and decorated.
The duo's backgrounds converge on this kind of total authorship. Ambre Marazzi has directed interior design and production for hospitality projects including Quinta da Comporta, Cheval Blanc Saint-Barthélemy and Palácio Ludovice in Lisbon. Julien Labrousse is an architect with more than twenty-five years of practice spanning theatres, residential buildings, hotels and villas.
For owners, single authorship has a practical consequence beyond coherence: furniture that exists nowhere else is part of what makes each villa a singular asset rather than a repeatable product.
