LIVING AT APAULINHA
Can families live at Apaulinha year-round?
Yes — Apaulinha is conceived to work as a full-time home as well as a holiday one. International schools, health facilities and everyday services are available nearby, and the estate itself is equipped for family life in every season.
The climate does much of the work: the area enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year and a mild Atlantic climate, so outdoor life does not close down in winter. On the estate, families have a dedicated Kids Room with games and age-appropriate activities, a padel court with night lighting, a natural swimming lake, and The Shelter's e-bikes, surfboards and sports equipment. The villas themselves are built for permanent living rather than summer occupation — four bedrooms and four bathrooms in eight of the nine, large living areas and kitchens, underfloor heating served by a reversible heat pump, and fibre-optic connectivity.
Practically, Grândola is 3 km away for daily needs, and Lisbon — with its international airport — is roughly 110 km, about 1 hour 15 minutes by road.
Why it matters: much of the coast's property stock is designed for eight weeks of summer. A home that functions in November as well as August is a different, and rarer, proposition.
